Morris Orchard Natural Burial

Welcome to the Morris Orchard Natural Burial community.
We are a group that honors the full circle of life and care of the earth.

DEATH CAN BE A DIFFICULT TOPIC TO THINK ABOUT, LET ALONE DISCUSS

But it doesn’t have to be scary.  In fact, we can find beauty, peace and a deeper connection with our loved ones – and the world around us – as we plan for our inevitable end.

That’s what natural burial is all about.  Also known as green burial, a natural burial is one that embraces nature’s beautiful cycle of life and death and recognizes our connection to one another and to the world around us.

Natural burials are exactly that – natural.  No embalming fluids or chemicals, just the body wrapped in a simple cloth or shroud.  If caskets are used, they must be made of nontoxic, 100% biodegradable materials.

A SAFE, NATURAL AND RESPECTFUL BURIAL ALTERNATIVE AT MORRIS ORCHARD

Rather than traditional headstones and monuments, natural graves are typically marked through GPS or flat stone markers.  And, unlike traditional cemeteries, natural burial cemeteries do not use herbicides, insecticides or fertilizers – helping to maintain a healthy and safe ecosystem.

The reasons are obvious.  Green burials have proven to be far better for the land, water and air quality than virtually any other option – including traditional burials and cremation – and at a significantly lower cost.  Natural burial also is less impactful to the local water supply than home septic systems or traditional farming.

Thank you for connecting.  Stay tuned for news of our progress and upcoming events.

Meanwhile we recommend exploring 5 Wishes, a holistic advanced care document that helps in planning at any stage of life.

"We have personally seen the incredible power of natural burials to allow family members to bury their loved ones in a simple, beautiful and loving way.  And we are honored to be able to provide this compassionate service for others in our community who choose it for themselves or their loved ones."
